Good-bye Christmas.

The battle to push Christmas out
Was won when the tree went down
Scattered pine needles on the carpet
Are evidence of Big Pine's forfeit.
The ornaments are back in the box,
The fireplace took off its socks
Bright wrappings are gone,
No more red and green songs…

I look forward to days that are warm
And long.

Utterly, utterly delightful, Kendra.

I was hoping- no pressure- that this might be the year you'd seek publication. I'll say it 'til I'm blue in the face: You're an awesome, awesome poet and person. I'll be the first to buy your works.

And oh, just four more months, and you'll have your long, warm days (and I can't wait either).
